Hello, I'm Emily

Founded in 2019, Moonstone Ceremonies was created to honour life’s valuable moments.
I have been interested in spirituality and religion from a young age and have always loved ceremonies, rituals, and celebrations. I worked and lived at an intentional yogic community on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia and have had a spiritual yoga practice for more than 25 years.
I studied ceremony and ritual through the non-profit Celebrant Foundation and Institute (CF&I), headquartered in New Jersey and received training to perform Weddings and Ceremonies Across the Life Cycle. I am registered to perform legal weddings within the Province of Ontario by the Registrar General of Ontario and I am ordained as a Reverend with the Canadian Metaphysical Ministry.
My studies prior to becoming a Life_Cycle Celebrant and Wedding Officiant in Guelph, Ontario include Environmental Studies at York University, where I graduated with an undergraduate and masters degree focused on Environmental Conservation and Urban Planning.
Environmental issues and social justice are important to me. On any given day you can find me singing a tune, especially protesty folk songs. Resistance Revival Chorus is a current favourite. I identify as a white settler queer female and am thrilled to be getting married during the summer of 2021 to my partner, Oliver. I have been part of the rich community here in Guelph since 2012, where Oliver and I currently reside with our new golden retriever pup Ramona.
